Can't believe it's the New Year and I haven't posted since the end of November!! How time flies!
My part-time temporary Christmas work has come and gone, as has Christmas - Andy and my 1st Christmas together (aww!) And now it's the middle of January and I'm back to job hunting.
Work was fine - had to start at 8am every day so ended up leaving the house around 7.30...not pleasant, especially in all the snow and the freezing temperatures. Am thinking I'll be looking for a job that starts a bit later :) but we'll see what comes up.
Christmas was lovely - lots of open fires and toasted marshmallows and peace (for a couple of days) from arguing girls (now there's a miracle if ever there was one!) Walking to church on Christmas morning in the icy air, the brilliant sunshine glittering on the crisp white glittering snow was only marred by one daughter choosing fashion over practicality and this meant she had to be held up most of the way there and back due to the boots she chose to wear - she only fell over twice thankfully - but unfortunately took her aide with her the second time (shouldn't have laughed really, but it did look very funny!)
We had the pleasure of catching up with a friend from college just after Christmas. Leah was en route from Sweden to Africa and stopped off to stay the night with us - bringing her boyfriend with her! It was so good to see her, and meet him, but all too brief...times like these always are - but worth it nevertheless.
Christmas for us carries on - we will be celebrating with my folks at the beginning of February as my work and the weather meant we weren't able to organise anything til then...oh well - the more festivities the merrier - wonder if we'll bother decorating the house for Christmas again?!
Speaking of decorating - while I'm looking for work I'm determined to work on the house and get more of it sorted. For the past couple of weeks I've been working on the dining room and having done the decorating, with Andy's help yesterday, the new laminate floor is in and it's looking good :) On to the lounge next...
I've also been working on my mosaic art and the great news is that Gloucester Cathedral will be stocking my cards, and prints from April :) :) :) It's really exciting to be able to use my gifts in this way and make a small contribution to the household budget - just wish it was a bit more, but who knows what God will do next.
In the meantime - I'll carry on applying for jobs - and see what comes up...hope to get something soon - though I'm not quite sure how I'm going to fit it in seeing as I've been so busy since the part-time job ended...it's a funny old life!
