An interesting interview...

Ok - so I applied for a job - a part-time admin job at at well-known high street store. And I got an interview!!!

So, off I went and in the canteen, along with 7 others we were 'interviewed'...and I put that in quotes because this is what happened...

I had to:

1. Talk with the candidate opposite me and then introduce them to the rest of the group (not the easiest of tasks in a noisy, busy room, with a very quiet spoken individual - though remarkably I found out that we'd both worked for Boots over Christmas, on the same team - just a different times - weird...)
2. Discuss a plane crash scenario with 3 people (I have NO idea why this is important for an admin job - perhaps there's more to this job than the advert led me to believe...)
3. Fill out an impromtu application form (note to self - take copy of CV with you to ALL job interviews - although you've written your life story out many times, it is not COMPLETELY imprinted on your brain...)
4. Organise your team to build the largest structure from old magazines and sticky tape (my team won, but only just - the foundation of the structure we created wasn't quite a strong as we'd thought...)

But...despite all this...I didn't get it :( Might be because there were 160 applicants for the job...might be because God doesn't want me doing a job that might just prove to be a whole lot more risky than it first appears...who knows? It might be just that this wasn't the right job for me, right now - oh well...at least I'll be more prepared for future interviews...mind you, I might have to practice making magazine towers...hmm...where's that sticky tape?
