Busy, busy, busy...

Well, I've been working for three months now - and it's been good :) I've made some good friends and really enjoy being creative with the things I have to teach. But most of all I've enjoyed being part of a class that has so much to discover and in the process I have...

  • been commended for my hidden talents when I became a crab during an under the sea dance workshop...

  • taught a class of 7 year olds how to play didgeridoos for a whole school assembly - a.k.a. painted cardboard tubes

  • helped make, and I quote, 'the best hat ever' - a rather fetching spider ensemble, complete with multiple eyes and long bouncy legs - for an upcoming class assembly

  • shown a class how to clap in sign language

and finally...

  • got sent home having been injured myself when I was out on First Aid duty in the playground (oh, the irony!) (In the interests of child safety I was sent to shut a carpark gate which then shut on the back of my ankle!! This was not in the interests of adult safety...)

It's an exciting life being a teaching assistant :)

But aside from all that, I've also been working on my cards - my latest order was delivered to Gloucester Cathedral Giftshop last Friday. And I've also started looking after a house for friends of mine who are now missionaries in Japan working with WEC. They'll be renting out to some new students at Redcliffe who are due at the start of August - and there's quite a bit to sort out yet...so far I've had to create an inventory, sort out gas certificates, electricity reports, cleaning, gardening and some decorating...

And of course I've also been running the house, ferrying Beth and Abi to concerts at Gloucester Cathedral and Cheltenham Town Hall, started visiting universities with Bex, and all of them to the various clubs they go to at church. Oh, and we've been short of a car for the past 5 weeks since Andy's work car broke down - we're still waiting for one part to be sorted out...maybe we'll hear this week...hopefully...that it's fixed! But this week I've not got a car at all as Andy has gone to do some work on his mum's house in Cambridgeshire. I made it to work ok on the bike - I'm just hoping that it doesn't rain too much this week or I'm going to get rather wet :(

So, all in all, the past 3 months have been more than a bit full on...I'm looking forward to the end of term in 3 weeks time...
