Fish tales...

When we moved in to our new house the garden was more than a little bit overgrown.  Initially we took all the enormous shrubs out and have been working over the past few months to make the garden a bit more attractive.  We've set up a vegetable garden down the side of our house and across the back of the garden we've put in a few flowers, but for a while now there has been a random shaped hole in the left hand corner of our garden...but this week we transformed it.

Several hours of digging resulted in a pond just ready for our new fish.  Frogs have  taken up residence already :)  The first few plants need to do a bit of growing and we've got a bit of landscaping still to do, not least to install the necessary pump and filter but it's looking so much better!

Well...the fish moved in yesterday and...promptly disappeared...we wondered if they'd got eaten, but now think they were investigating their new home as thankfully we've now seen them all swimming about.

I particularly like the bright reddish orangy fish that looks a bit like it's wearing lipstick or has an orange moustache! :)
