One of the most important things in forming a blended family is creating shared memories. When we got married last year Andy and I asked if people would be kind enough to give us gifts towards a family holiday - which quickly got entitled our "familymoon"!
We discussed lots of different ideas, but ended up choosing to go on an activity holiday and in retrospect we couldn't have chosen a better idea.
We began our holiday with a meal at a local restaurent, then dropped in on some very good friends of ours en route. We stayed over night with them and then drove on and spent the day in Weymouth after visiting Lullworth Cove and Durdle Door. We had a fab time on the beach in glorious sunshine (though we did get a little bit sunburnt!)
And it has to be said that we had the best week - with loads of activities, fantastic food and we've made some great friends. We really enjoyed the hearty breakfasts, filling lunches and five course dinners and finished off the day with some excellent evening activities.
We did dragon boating and kayaking in the Olympic sailing venue at Weymouth, zipwire, sensory trail (wet and a tad muddy), abseiling, climbing, aeroball (a combination of basketball and trampolining), quadbiking, archery, trapeze, problem solving and giant swing.
The week was declared "the best holiday ever" and scored 9/10 by all the girls - we've given it 9.5/10 we thought it was so good!
So, to anyone reading who contributed...
THE MOST ENORMOUS THANK YOU!!!
